The Motorway Archive is a vast collection of information and artefacts relating to the development of the UK's motorway infrastructure.
It has been brought together by a large team of dedicated professionals led by the former Permanent Secretary to the Department of transport, the late Sir Peter Baldwin. It is funded wholly by sponsorship from Professional Institutions, and Companies working in the construction industry.
We would be pleased to have views on this website, and most particularly any corrections or comments on specific schemes. It is recognised that much of the information currently available is second-hand and therefore subject to some memory loss. First-hand experiences or recollections are therefore particularly valuable.
